Madera Programs

Community Outreach and Enrollment Project of Medi-cal to Madera County

In Madera County since its beginning, Centro Binacional para el Desarrollo Indígena Oaxaqueño (CBDIO) has supported the indigenous community from the Fresno headquarters through various programs and services. In 2014, through a contract with the Madera County Health Department, CBDIO opened an office space in the same building of the Department of Health to provide support to the community. Since then, it has supported with promoting the Medi-Cal Program in public events, educational institutions, and the media, informing families how to choose their primary doctor and how to use the program to maintain their health by educating people the importance of using medical services and prevention care.

We offer these services in Mixtec, Zapotec, Triqui, Spanish and English languages, filling initial application and renewal of the Medi-cal program. In addition, we assist families to read and translate documents in language that is required, call the social worker to solve certain situations about the case and support with other forms such as CalFresh, etc.

Through the Fresno headquarters, we continue to provide information on Citizenship, Deferred Action and know your rights. We hold workshops where we bring trained volunteers and lawyers to lead the process of applications for the renewal of Deferred Action and Citizenship.

Join CBDIO in strengthening

indigenous communities.
